How To Cook Soba
Soba are Japanese buckwheat noodles.
Below are the instructions on the back of the Shirakiku brand *Zaru Soba with Yam*’
“Delicious way to enjoy soba one bunch (approx. 1 people)”
1. Put 6 cups (1.5 l) water in large pot. Bring to boil, put soba in and stir.
2. When water comes to a rapid boil, decrease heat and continue to simmer for 4-5 minutes.
3. Put it in a zaru and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
4. After rinsing, drain water completely. Put in bowl with your favorite soup base.
On another part of the package:
Add tempura, tororo, kizami nori, etc. with green onion, wasabi.
Will make a delicious meal.
*Tororo is the yam Dioscorea opposita (nagaimo).
Kizami nori is “fine-cut” dried seaweed.
