Kenya’s Wesley Korir wins 2009 LA Marathon!
Wesley Korir is the one wearing the yellow top and red shorts.
They whizzed by so fast I couldn’t get their bib numbers, and some of the women who were given a head start had cropped hair, so I had a hard time telling them apart.
Wesley Korir is of Kenya and he won the race in record time: 2 hours 8 minutes 24 seconds. The conditions were ideal − overcast and cool.
He won a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L and a total of $160,000 — $20,000 for winning, $40,000 for clocking under 2:09 and $100,000 for becoming the first runner — male or female — to finish.
