Steaz Organic Energy Drink – Berry Flavor

Summary: Tastes great and is fair trade, but not that big a jolt of energy!

They call it “organic fuel for the mind, body and soul.” I almost overlooked this at the store because the can was less than striking. But the design doesn’t reflect how good it tastes. (Update: image on the right is of the redesigned can)

As an energy drink, its kick is moderate. Each can (12 ounces = a cup and a half) has only 80 milligrams of caffeine, but it does contain other healthful ingredients — acai juice, guarana extract, yerba mate, Ceylon green tea, and Vitamin C. The sweetener is evaporated cane juice. The fact that it’s certified USDA organic and fair trade is impressive.
